The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), North Central Railway (NCR) has released the RRC NCR Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification for 1853 Act Apprentice training slots under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligible ITI-qualified candidates can now submit their applications through the official online portal. The registration process has started on 8th July 2026 and will remain open until 7th August 2026.

The recruitment offers apprenticeship training across multiple divisions and workshop units of North Central Railway. Selection will be made purely on merit, and there will be no written examination or interview.

RRC NCR Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Applicants must satisfy the prescribed age and educational qualifications before submitting the application.

Applicants should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 7th July 2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

• Passed SSC/Matriculation/10th Class (10+2 system or equivalent) with minimum 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
• Passed ITI in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT recognized by the Government of India.

Not Eligible

• Candidates whose SSC/Matriculation or ITI results are awaited as on 7th July 2026.
• Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders.

Selection Process

• Merit prepared using equal weightage of Matriculation and ITI percentage marks.
• Shortlisting up to 1.5 times the notified vacancies for document verification.
• In case of a tie, preference will be given to the older candidate.
• If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier will be considered first.
• Final selection will be based on successful document verification and medical fitness.

Training Period

Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for 1 year.
